The 2010 Election poll result on this site, from a total of 108 readers, produced a result of:

    • 46.30% LIB-NAT Liberal National [Votes: 50]
    • 32.41% ALP Labor [Votes: 35]
    • 14.81% Greens [Votes: 16]
    • 5.56% Other [Votes: 6]
    • 0.93% Independent [Votes: 1]

Only a few hours now and we will have the actual figures from the 13 million voters in Australia, but it does seem to be running on a knife edge at the moment.

A report at 11:30 am Sunday says 147 seat have been called, with 71 to ALP and 72 to LNP

    The three remaining seats are:
    Hasluck: 42.05% LNP : 38.1% ALP : 12.47% Green
    Greenway: 41.57% LNP : 42.74% ALP : 5.81% Green
    Lindsay: 43.98% LNP : 44.49% ALP : 4.47% Green

With these expected to be 2 for LNP and one for ALP, the final result could be:
    • 74 LNP
    • 72 ALP
    • 1 Green
    • 3 Independents

If this is correct, then 74 LNP + 2 Independents would give LNP a working majority.

A record number of pre-poll and thousands of postal votes have yet to be counted, meaning a final result may not be known until the end of the week.

I read that over 1.5 million votes were done "pre-poll", but assumed these would be already counted, but if the above is correct, then they could make quite a difference.
