Minimum Wage in Australia

1st July 2011: $15.51 per hour, or $589.27 per week according to this:
(Fair Work Australia has granted an increase of 3.4% to modern award weekly wages) + 9% super.

• 1st Jul 2010: $15.00 per hour, or $569.90 per week
• 1st Oct 2009: $14.31 per hour, or $543.78 per week
• 1st Oct 2008: $14.31 per hour, or $543.78 per week
• 1st Oct 2007: $13.74 per hour. or $522.12 per week.

The Australian Fair Pay Commission is an independent body responsible for adjusting federal minimum wages.

The compulsory Superannuation contributions, currently 9%, are payable by the employer and are on top of the minimum wage payment.
