One in five Australian workers wants to work less hours

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) only about 21% of Australian workers want to work less hours.

Workers who were Managers and Professionals were most likely to want to work less hours.

An ABS survey, carried out between April and July 2007, found that around two-thirds (65%) felt they were working close to their preferred number of hours.
1.4 million workers (14%) wanted to work more hours
2.2 million (21%) preferred to be working fewer hours

The average number of hours usually worked weekly by those who want to work less was 67.
The average number of hours they preferred to be working was 42.
