The Capital City of the Northern Territory (NT) is Darwin.
The Northern Territory, the real Outback of Australia, is the home to
the famous and iconic Uluru/Ayers Rock, and the Kakadu National Park.

- The 2006 Census of the resident population of the Northern Territory was
192,898.
- The 2006 Census of Darwin (Statistical Division) was 105,991.
- 70.7% of these were born in Australia and 3.4% in England.
- Others included: New Zealand 2.1%, Philippines 1.4%, East Timor 0.9% and
Greece 0.8%.
- The median age was 32 years,
- 5.3% of the population were aged over 65.
- Children under 15 years of age totalled 22.5%.
