My wife is on Spouse visa and she has the International Drivers License. I am Permanent Resident with NSW Learners License. Can my wife accompany NSW Learners License holders.
An International Drivers licence is not normally sufficient, as it does not confirm that they have the relevant Australian driving knowledge.
Some countries, with very similar driving requisites to Australia, such as Britain, are allowed to swap their Licence for an Australian one, and then become eligible to sit with a learner.
I assume that your wifes licence, as she holds an International Drivers License aswewll, is not in the English language, and that she holds a temporary Visa ?
If she has a permanent visa then she must make arrangements as soon as possible, to obtain a full Australian licence within 3 months of arriving. If that does not happen, then after 3 months she will no longer be able to drive legally in Australia.
On a temporary Visa she is allowed to drive whilst her temp Visa is valid, but can apply for a resticted Full Australian licence after being here for 6 months.
