That was the headline in the Sunday newspaper that I just bought at the local fruit shop...

This was my small purchase:

• $2.00 Newspaper
• $1.99 2 litres Milk
• $1.40 White 700gm Loaf (Tip Top Bakery)
• $1.37 0.69kg Mandarin's (at $1.99 kg)

The prices quoted in the Newspaper:

• $4.02 kg Oranges
• $2.85 kg Potatoes
• $5.93 kg Tomatoes
• $2.23 kg Carrots
• $3.31 kg Onions

Prices in Woolworths

• $0.99 kg Oranges (for a 3kg bag)
• $1.50kg Potatoes (for a 6 kg bag)
• $1.98 kg Onions

I will check the Fruit shop for their "normally cheaper than Woolworths" prices later.

Sometimes I wonder newspaper headlines...
