People living in the inner southern areas of Forrest and Red Hill earn the highest average incomes in the Australian Capital Territory, according to figures released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
Forrest recorded an average total income of $78,373 in 2007-08, followed closely by Red Hill with $78,359.
Griffith ($76,569), Duntroon ($69,077) and Deakin ($69,060) round out the top five.
The Australian Capital Territory recorded the highest average income of all states and territories in 2007-08 ($52,330).
These data include income from wages and salaries, own unincorporated business, investment, and superannuation and annuities, but do not include government pensions and allowances.
