Australian Male Wages rise 5.36% in 12 months to August 2011

Wage Changes in the twelve months to August 2011:

Full-time Male adult total earnings rose from $1,414.90 to $1,490.70 per week, a rise of 5.36%.

Full-time Female adult total earnings rose from $1,132.10 to $1,182.40 per week, a rise of 4.44%.

Combined Full-time adult total earnings rose by 5.1% in the 12 months to August 2011, based on the ABS – Average Weekly Earnings, Seasonally Adjusted Series (cat. no. 6302.0)

Based on the new weekly averages, the annual average for August 2011 was:

  • $77,516.40 Males
  • $61,484.80 Females

85% of the above would put the median annual wage, for August 2011 at about:

  • $65,900 Males
  • $52,250 Females
