Average Hourly Wage rates rise by 2.60% from June 2013 to June 2014

Average Australian Hourly Wage rates rise by 2.60% in the year to June 2014

According to the ABS 6345.0 – Labour Price Index, the increase in the trend wage index through the year to June quarter 2010 for all employee jobs in Australia was 2.60%.

Employees in the Public Sector averaged 2.90%
Employees in the Private Sector averaged 2.50%

This is based on using the “original figures” statistics. Seasonally Adjusted shows 2.4% and 2.8% respectively.

The highest rise of 3.4% for the year to June 2014, was in South Australia’s Public sector.

3.3% VIC Public
2.5% VIC Private

2.7% QLD Public
2.5% QLD Private

3.4% SA Public
3.1% SA Private

3.0% WA Public
2.2% WA Private

TAS

2.3% TAS Public
2.2% TAS Private

NT

2.7% NT Public
2.8% NT Private

ACT

2.3% ACT Public
2.1% ACT Private

Australia

2.9% Australia Public
2.5% Australia Private
