Computers in Australia
A common question that I see is:
Will my Computer work in Australia ?
The answer is Yes, it will. I brought two over myself, and I know many others who have done the same.
All you will need to do is buy another power cable with an Australian plug on one end. The computer connection is exactly the same.
Modems may be a different matter.
Computer Prices in Australia
Here is an example of a reasonable online computer supplier I-Tech Computers where you can check out example prices. I checked a price in 2005 for a PCI card with 4 x USB2.0 sockets; my local shop wanted $49.95, but I found many differences with $16 being the lowest, from I-Tech. So, shop around.
