Western Australia has a population density of 1.03 per SqKm,
Northern Territory has a population density of 0.2 per SqKm,
South Australia has a population density of 1.7 per SqKm,
ACT has a population density of 173.3 per SqKm,
New South Wales has a population density of 9.6 per SqKm,
Victoria has a population density of 26.6 per SqKm,
Tasmania has a population density of 7.7 per SqKm.

Perth with a population of 2,039,200 in an area of 6,418 Sq Km, has a density of 318 people per sq Km
Western Australia with a population of 2,613,700 in an area of 2,529,875 Sq Km, has a density of 1.0 people per sq Km

Darwin with a population of 142,300 in an area of 3,164 Sq Km, has a density of 45 people per sq Km
Northern Territory with a population of 244,000 in an area of 1,349,129 Sq Km, has a density of 0.2 people per sq Km

Adelaide with a population of 1,316,779 in an area of 3,258 Sq Km, has a density of 404 people per sq Km

Certain City figures may appear unusual, unless looked at from the perspective of the specific area, examples of this are:

Sydney, with a population of 4,921,000 in an area of 12,368 Sq Km, has a density of 398 people per sq Km

however, there is a different figure for:

City of Sydney, which has a population of 205,339 in an area of 25 Sq Km, has a density of 8,214 people per sq Km

Brisbane is another example of this:

City of Brisbane with a population of 1,162,186 in an area of 1,367 Sq Km, has a density of 850 people per sq Km
