UK Banking for British Expats

An information site for British Migrants to Australia, providing information since October 2005. Post Content follows this advert.

There is a certain amount of confusion regarding whether or not a British Expat can maintain a UK bank account whilst living overseas.

I know of some people that have told me that their UK bank closed their accounts when advised of an overseas address. Yet I still have my UK Bank account and Credit card, and I have had statements posted to me, here in Australia, since 2003.

It must come down to the different banks having different policies.

This is something worth checking with your bank, before moving overseas. These accounts can be useful to allow family and friends the ability to easily transfer money for children’s Birthdays, Christmas etc, without incurring conversion costs.

Barclays Wealth International provides a range of UK, international and offshore banking and savings accounts.

Offshore bank accounts in US dollar, euro or sterling, apply with just £5,000 deposit. Find out more
