Wine in Australia

The first vineyards in Australia were planted in Sydney in 1788.

The Australian wine industry has now grown to become the 4th largest exporter of wine in the world.

There are many well known vineyards around Australia, together with many smaller ones.

The Hunter Valley in NSW is a very well known one in the East.

The main wine styles are quoted as: Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Semillon, Shiraz, and Verdelho.
